After a week with rain and temperature not higher than 13 degrees this weekend 21.-22. september 2019 is dominated with high pressure and warm air blown from south Europe to Scandinavia.
On this sunday day before autumnal equinox on 23.9 I decide to visit Copenhagen and at 10 am I drive 60 km from my permanent home in North Sealand at Kattegat Sea to the capital of Denmark.
All my life I loved Copenhagen since I first visit the city as a 5 years old boy in 1950.
I lived in Aarhus, the second largest town in Denmark from 1945-83 and with relatives living in Copenhagen I visited the city every year.
From 1983 until 2012 I lived and worked permanently in Copenhagen.
Since 2012 I live permanently in my vacancy house in Melby at the countryside close to Kattegat Sea, forest, lakes and fields in North Sealand. The last 7 years I have every monday from 10-12 am given health and body exercise lessons to a group of 9 persons, age 60-80 years in Copenhagen City. It gave me opportunity to visit and explore all quarters in Copenhagen once a week all year around.
I will take you on a sunday visit to 3 of my favorite quarters in Copenhagen: Frederiksberg Garden, Nørrebro with neighboring lakes and Freetown Christiania with bastions, moats and ramparts of ancient Copenhagen Fortress built 1620-90.
I arrive to Frederiksberg, Copenhagen at 11 am this sunday 22. september 2019.
Here is my experience the next 4 hours:
Frederiksberg Garden was built 1699-1703 by King Frederik 4 (King of Denmark and Norway 1699-1730) in style baroque with long geometric and wide symmetric lines of sight.
Frederiksberg Castle built 1699-1738

Frederiksberg Garden was built 1699-1703 by King Frederik 4 (King of Denmark and Norway 1699-1730) in style baroque with long geometric and wide symmetric lines of sight.
In 1802-04 the baroque garden was re-laid to a romantic garden inspired by english garden style with canals, bridges, temples, grottos with springs and winding paths through lawns, groves and range of hills.
