The coastline of northern part of Roskilde Fjord, Isefjord and southern part of Halsnæs peninsula was shaped during the melting of Scandinavian ice cap 12.-10.000 B.Christ.
Glascial streams formed fjords, hilly countries, glacial deposits, rivers, lakes, islands, peninsulas and slopes all over North Sealand and throughout the entire Denmark.
Alongside the coastlines of Roskilde Fjord and Isefjord hundreds of settlements and small villages were established since Danish Stone Age 4-5000 B. Christ. The inhabitants lived of fishery and hunting.
All settlements expanded in Bronze Age 500-1500 B. Christ. and during Iron Age period 500 B. Christ. to 500 A. Christ.
In Danish Viking Age 600-1000 A. Christ and during Middle Age period 1100-1400 A. Christ. Isefjorden and Roskilde Fjord was a busy trade center of fish and goods and an important anchor place for the danish Viking fleet well protected by natural harbour areas.
Roskilde Fjord was in more than 1000 years the principal sea gateway from Kattegat Sea to royal residence and bishop city Roskilde.
“National Park Kings North Sealand” opens spring 2018.
The area is around 26.000 ha large and cover 5 communes: Hillerød, Gribskov, Helsingør, Fredensborg and Halsnæs.
The costal line to Roskilde Fjord and Isefjorden of south part of Halsnæs Peninsula is the most western part of “National Park Kings North Sealand”: The slopes between Lynæs harbour and ferry berth Sølager.

In this area in Halsnæs Commune – at Roskilde Fjord, Isefjord, Kattegat Sea and Arresø lake:
– many couples of zo white-tailed eagles and fish eagles live and breed all over the areas.
Today I met people with telescopes to observe and photograph birds, ducks and eagles.
They tell me that something unusual have happen here in the area the last month: people have observed for the first time the GOLDEN EAGLE – Kongeørnen.
Very seldom you observe golden eagles in Denmark – they live permanently in Norway and Sweden but not in Denmark.
